No one wants to get caught up in a violent coup d’etat on a primitive planet like Sunworld. But when Mike Hayden hears Theresa Seyboldt screaming for help one night in the bad part of town, every other option goes out the window.
I don’t usually real this genre of book but I had a hard time putting it down–resulting in not a few sleepy days at work. Good character development married to a strong storyline with just enough allusions to current events to make the story feel real–(CMR, Amazon Reviewer)

On a planet where accidentally giving someone the evil eye is enough to get your throat slit, minding your own business is the safest path. But when rapine and ethnic cleansing reach out to touch the people dear to you, sometimes a man has no choice but to ignore that advice and get involved.
Join Mike Hayden and Theresa Seyboldt as a brutal coup d’etat launches them into a universe where psychopathic madmen kill without compunction, and where maintaining your grip on a blood-soaked dagger means the difference between life and death for everyone you love.
Reviews on Amazon:
“Where Madmen Rule is a hard science fiction romp. Within the first few pages, the author draws the reader into an action packed adventure with a sharp scientific edge. The science is believable, the characters realistic, the story engaging, and the conclusion satisfying. This is accomplished without any needlessly complex plot devices or verbal trickery. It is just good, solid science fiction. I found my self heavily invested in the characters before I knew it. I wound up reading this novel straight through, and it has been a long time since I have been this captivated by a book. Highly recommended…”

Where Madmen Rule is fantastic. I found myself reaching for this at red lights, riding one fast-paced adventure into another, having forgotten to take my next breath. Hayman starts with a bang, diving into love and war with serious spunk, unafraid to grab you by the hair like a drive-by rollercoaster. You truly don’t have a moment to relax here, and you find yourself praying aloud that–and really wondering if– Mike is going to make it when sh*t hits the fan in Sunworld. And it hits, big time. In a universe that’s constructed expertly, with believable deceit and confusing technology. His references to our day are funny and effective… I found myself invested in these characters, developing relationship as nuance allowed it, anticipating reactions in the way I would real friendships. To me that’s THE sign of true talent… I love love LOVED this book. Read it. –Ray Litt, Goodreads Reviewer.
